A Tale of Two Souks: Muharraq Souk
Muharraq souk houses a collection of old shops selling from coffee, sweets to herbal medicines and the narrow streets that resemble many Middle Eastern souks. Muharraq served as Bahrain’s capital until 1932, the centre of the pearl trade and the hub of Bahrain life. The city known as the heart and soul of Bahrain has always been known as a home of culture, traditional arts and music. Sheikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa has been leading an ongoing restoration of some of the city's historic sites and buildings. Shots 5 & 7 were exhibited at 'Bahrain at A Personal Diary' 2016 Bin Matar House, Bahrain.
